Backups

This section discusses how to do a backup of your website. You can probably skip this section for now and come back to it when you have everything setup the way you like. Also, from time to time, Wordpress comes out with upgrades that you just click and load. Its a good habit to perform a backup before you do one of these upgrades too. But remember to come back here!

Now, I'm assuming that you are here to perform a backup. As an aside, Bluehost does perform backups that you can recover from, however you would need to co-ordinate with them how to recover from them and the backups will be on their schedule. The following backup procedure can be done whenever you want and as often as you want. It also only takes a minute to backup everything, so there's no reason not to do it after you have done significant changes to your website.

Backup Steps

• Somewhere on your PC setup a \Backups folder and I also create a folder within \Backups with todays date in the folder name
• From the cPanel, click Backups (you will get the screen above)
• Scroll down the Backups page and click Home Directory
• Click Save and save it under your \Backups\datedfolder
• Now do the same for each of the MySql Databases (in the box under Home Directory)
• (Optional) Further down the page is Email that you can backup too

That's it, backups are all done.
